La journée pédagogique du 21 février s’approche à grande vitesse ! L’inscription sera ouverte dès la semaine prochaine (veuillez revisiter ce site d’ici vendredi prochain, la section pro-d, pour trouver le lien d’inscription).

Cette année, j’ai le très grand plaisir de travailler avec les coordonnateurs de Victoria et de Sooke. Nous sommes très heureux de confirmer les présentateurs/présentatrices suivantes :
Myriam Lemay, Yvette Heffernan (Reading Recovery), Daniel Parent et plusieurs autres.

En plus, il y aura des sessions de réseautage pour les différents niveaux d’enseignants le long de la journée.
Café et casse-croûte le matin avec repas chaud servi à midi.
Lieu à confirmer d’ici la semaine prochaine.

Prix d’inscription, environ 15 $.

Venez vous immerger en français le 21 février ; faites du réseautage avec vos collègues en immersion des commissions scolaires 61, 62 et 63 ; profitez de l’expertise de nos présentateurs français !

I am in the process of putting together a quick after school training sessions on the use of Antidote French software for January/February 2014. This initiative, as discussed in the district pro-d handbook, was on hold until further notice but has recently been taken off the ‘back burner’.

Please stay tuned for further details and registration instructions!

This workshop is relevant to all teachers who work in French on their computers (or teachers who have students working in French on computers).

All workshop participants will receive one copy of Antidote 8 software, pushed to the district machine of their choice.

Thanks to all participants who shared in the November 22nd pro-d surrounding TV5 Monde and increasing student engagement with authentic French resources.

Elementary participants who attend the next district pro-d workshop will receive the primary version of this fabulous resource.I trust that you will all enjoy using the complimentary resource that was given to workshop participants. Hopefully it will help you in selecting good-fit books for your students, whatever their level (please keep in mind that while the age-range of the book is 8-16 year olds, it is likely more appropriate for 12-18 year olds in a Western Canadian French immersion context).

TV5 Monde – How can I expose my immersion students to a wider variety of French in my classroom?
This morning session will take a close look at some of the educational tools offered on the TV5 Monde website while giving participants an opportunity to experience a few lessons and play around with the different online tools. Hosted by Duncan McIndoe (Coordinator for Languages) and Johanne Abbis (French Immersion Program). Both Duncan and Johanne are veteran users of the TV5 programs and look forward to sharing about their experiences with this fabulous resource.

Attendees will walk away with a strong understanding of some of the key programs offered by TV5 Monde (and will be ready to use them in their classes).
